Assettagz nominated twice in RFID Journal’s innovation awards
Two AssetTagz projects have been put forward for the “Most innovative use of RFID” category in this year’s RFID Journal Awards.
The award is for the company that best demonstrates how it is using RFID in a new or unusual way to solve a business problem, deliver a return on investment or improve customer service.
Byrne Group, one of the UK’s fastest growing construction companies, and Saudi Comedat, a surface mining company in the Middle East, are both using AssetTagz RFID solutions to deliver real value to their shareholders.
Byrne Group are leading the field within the Construction sector with their consolidation centre in London which serves as a hub to provide Plant and Materials, and Warehouse and Distribution facilities to most of their construction sites. Byrne Group use RFID technology to manage and control their 1300 individual assets. They can react quickly to tenders and projects as they know what equipment they have and what needs to be bought in.
Saudi Comedat is operating a remote phosphate mine in Saudi Arabia. They are using RFID technology in many aspects of the business, including: the daily Health and Safety inspections of its heavy plant equipment, fuel allocation to owned and hired assets and tracking attendance at daily task and SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) briefings through RFID enabled ID badges. By providing transparency and a clear audit trail, AssetTagz enables key aspects of this remote business to be monitored and managed from anywhere in the world.
The winner will be announced at RFID Journal LIVE! That is being held from 12-14 April, 2011 in Florida, USA.
